Caring Is Our Calling

National Hospital Week on May 6-12, 2018, the nation's largest health care event, is a celebration of the history, technology and dedicated professionals that make our facilities beacons of confidence and care. On behalf of Portneuf Medical Center, I am honored and humbled to celebrate and thank all the individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, care coordinators, dietitians, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more - who support the health and well-being of our community. There is no greater gift than that of good health. Our employees who care for our neighbors,  friends, family members and guests from around the region, are very much appreciated and recognized. As one of the largest employers in the area, we embrace our responsibility of continuing to positively impact the health and well-being of individuals in this region, to support community causes and be a part of the larger metrics on community success. Since 1907, our community has depended on Portneuf Medical Center for the health of our southeastern Idaho area residents. In the last century, we have evolved to become a trusted community partner in health. Because this is our home, we deeply care about Pocatello and the communities we serve. With 187 beds and 1,600 team members, we are proud to serve our region and all who are in need of our vital services. As our region continues to grow and develop, we are expanding and enhancing access so that our community members are able to receive the right care, at the right time, where they need us. Through meaningful investments in the future of healthcare, we are improving the health of the communities we serve and the quality and breadth of our services are unusual for a community of our size. A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal, it is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope. From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy and optimistic community. On behalf of Portneuf Health Partners, I thank you for allowing each of us the opportunity to be of service. Dan Ordyna has been the chief executive officer of Portneuf Medical Center since July 2013.
