The FCCS Course is a standardized, two-day course providing critical care information to non-critical care specialists. The course consists of standardized lectures referenced to syllabus material, plus interactive skill stations.

The FCCS course offers an approach to the initial management of the critically ill patient for providers not formally trained in critical care. Especially care related to mechanical ventilation, monitoring organ hypo-perfusion and neurological support. Providers will receive guidance for acute problems encountered in the ICU and for sudden patient deterioration.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Class cost is $275

Who Should Attend:

Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedical personnel, respiratory therapists and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well-being of infants and children.

Participants must attended 2-day course for certification. Course includes provider manual and cardiovascular handbook.

The annual Brake for Breakfast, sponsored by Portneuf Medical Center is held the 1st Wednesday in October each year. The event starts at 6:30 am to continues until supplies run out. This drive-through event is free and open to the public.

Join us for fun food creations and education in the ISU Campus Kitchens on Tuesday, August 14th, 2018. Portneuf Medical Center’s Diabetes Education Team has joined with the ISU Dietetics Food Lab for a class of fun food creation. The theme for 2018 is “Chopped!” Kids will be learning how to use their “basket” of ingredients to create healthy snacks and will get to practice carb counting. While the kids are busy in the kitchen, parents will be participating in an education session. At the end of the session, parents will be presented with their child’s creation to be enjoyed together.

The goal of camp is to give a challenge to increase confidence and learn team building skills. Kids will be separated into appropriate age groups so be sure to add your child the their correct age group when registering. The $20.00 camp fee covers both parent and child.

Age categories are as follows:

Ages 11-17  2pm-4pm
