Jessica Mendez, MD chose to pursue a career in medicine because it combines a few of her passions: science, helping others, lifelong learning and teaching. She did her residency training in family medicine because she enjoyed being able to take care of patients in a variety of clinical locations, including outpatient, urgent care and the hospital.

After residency, Jessica worked in outpatient family medicine for five years before completing a one-year fellowship in hospital medicine. She enjoys hospital medicine because it allows her to care for patients experiencing a wide range of health conditions at a higher acuity level.

Jessica came to Southeast Idaho in residency and has stayed ever since. In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, cooking and traveling.
