National Nurses Week 2015

There are over 3.1 million registered nurses working to make a difference in the lives of their patients and coworkers every day. Each year, America honors their hard work and dedication with a national week-long celebration. National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th as RN Recognition Day, and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This week, and throughout the year, PMC is proud to celebrate the role nurses play in delivering the highest quality health care. While we sometimes focus attention on the doctor’s role, it is nurses who are there for patients, providing continuity of care 24/7, responding to patients' needs, talking to patients' families, explaining follow-up care, and often helping patients navigate the complex and sometimes confusing healthcare system. In the 2014 Gallup poll of U.S. professions, nurses were rated America's most honest and ethical profession for the 13th year in a row. It’s impossible to over-emphasize the key role nurses play in our everyday operations. From bedside nursing in long-term care facilities to research institutions and state & federal legislature, the nursing profession is meeting expanding healthcare needs and shaping the future of our healthcare system. In honor of National Nurses Week, we thank the entire nursing staff at Portneuf Medical Center. Your dedication to patients, their families, our colleagues and our communities is sincerely appreciated.
