Sports Injury Prevention Seminar

The majority of children who play high school sports do so without the occurrence of serious injury. While zero sports related injuries are the prime goal for parents and concerned members of the community, we know that zero is not achievable, but lowering the rate of injury is definitely doable. In a world filled with spirited and talented athletes and competitive sporting events, sprains, strains and overuse injuries occur and often require limited medical attention. Fortunately, there are a few strategies that can help keep young athletes as well as exercising adults free from injury. If you or a loved one is interested in effective steps you can easily take to greatly minimize the opportunity for sports related injury, I invite you to attend my upcoming seminar, Sports Injury Prevention, on Thurs, November 19, 2015 in the PMC Pebble Creek Conference Room. The seminar is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6pm; presentation begins at 6:30p. Seating is limited. To register for this event, call 208-239-1048 to reserve your seat. Portneuf Sports Medicine Institute and the physicians of Pocatello Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine have put together a very comprehensive program for athletics that includes the full spectrum of injury prevention, care and rehabilitation. Though the specialty of sports medicine includes the prevention and treatment of injuries to athletes and physically active people, sports medicine physicians are ideal for the non-athlete as well. We are primarily concerned with the investigation, preservation and restoration by medical, surgical and rehabilitative means to all structures of the musculoskeletal system affected by athletic activity. The same principles used to return an athlete to the field are also used to return workers back to work, restore function to non-athletes and allow for efficient return to the activities of daily living. From wellness to nutritional counseling to state of the art surgery and sports rehabilitation, Portneuf Sports Medicine and Pocatello Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine are renowned for their ability to keep high school athletes, weekend warriors and sports professionals at their very peak of performance. Whatever your passion, sport or activity, we are here to prepare you for and keep you in the game.
