As we come to the end of 2014, I would like to share with you a few of our successes and to report that PMC, your comprehensive regional referral hospital, continues to be a place of healing, caring and connection. Our staff and physicians are committed to caring for area families not only with the latest healthcare technology and procedures, but also with the highest level of compassion and individual attention.
Our success comes from many factors. The first is our unwavering commitment and dedication to provide extraordinary health care to our patients and their families. This year, Portneuf Medical Center was ranked the best hospital in Eastern Idaho by a national magazine and our joint commission scores gave us a national safety and quality award that was one of the highest in the country. PMC was the only hospital in Eastern Idaho to receive an award for quality and safety. In addition, we received recognition as a level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.
The second factor in our success is our desire to meet the growing needs of those who live, work and play in the communities we serve. As such, we have expanded the scope of services and recruited world class physicians to our region. Our award winning and nationally recognized cardiology, cardiac surgical, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency service, urology, rehabilitation and outpatient surgery services are widely known in the region. In addition, our wide array of multi-specialty physicians and clinicians offer services ranging from cancer, Ob/Gyn, general surgery, women’s health, internal medicine, cardiac and vascular care, pediatrics, neonatology, sleep medicine, psychiatric care, pulmonary medicine, comprehensive behavioral health, physical therapy, neurology and educational seminars and support groups. It is rare to have a hospital with such depth in medical specialties combined with highly advanced equipment in a community of our size.
The third factor in our success comes from our excellent team of medical professionals and staff members who call Southeast Idaho home. Each member of our team is dedicated to patient care as well as the community. The administration, staff and physicians volunteer their time and talents to non-profit organizations, schools, community events and health clinics throughout the region. Additionally, our highly specialized team is invested in sharing and educating the community.
