The 17th Annual Brake for Breakfast was held Wednesday morning at many medical centers in eastern Idaho. Vehicles were lined up along the drive-thru route set up at Portneuf Medical Center to receive their sack breakfasts and breast cancer screening information. Firefighters Wear Pink
Our local firefighters are not just saving lives by responding to fires and emergencies; they are also fighting to save the lives of those affected by breast cancer. Once again, members of the Pocatello Fire Fighters Union, IAFF local 187 is selling specially designed pink T-shirts to raise awareness and support all those who have been touched by this disease.
Ladies Drive to Raise Awareness and Funds
To raise breast cancer awareness and valuable funds to support patient’s undergoing cancer treatment in Pocatello, more than a dozen female drivers took part in the Pocatello Raceway’s Ladies Shoot Out. During this exciting event, some of the best female drivers in the Pacific Northwest ran 30 laps on the flat track in street stock racers.
Cloud Nine Gift Shop is Putting on Pink
A pastel sea of pink marks the month of October. With ribbons, bags and t-shirts we are continuously reminded that early detection and preventative screenings can help save lives. Since 1985, October has been recognized as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month; it is a time for increased awareness and education about the disease, a time to emphasize the need to continue research and a reminder to be proactive about breast health.
