Samuel Saunders, DO is board certified in family medicine with a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine. Growing up, Dr. Saunders aspired to be an engineer, but his goals changed after living in Minnesota post-high school and getting to know doctors who worked at the Mayo Clinic. He quickly discovered his interest in medicine and decided it was a better fit.
Dr. Saunders chose to pursue a medical career in Family Medicine Sports Medicine because he loves all sports. He grew up playing football, basketball, and track and field, and a sports medicine doctor helped him return to the sports he loved after injuries. Dr. Saunders chose WorkMed because he considers the community “industrial athletes” and wants to give patients the same attention his doctor gave him growing up to ensure they can be as active as they want and help them return to active lifestyles at work or on the weekends with their families.
The outdoor opportunities brought Dr. Saunders to Southeast Idaho. He grew up playing sports, river rafting the Salmon River, mountain biking, and snowboarding. He also worked on his family Ranch in Almo, Idaho. When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Saunders enjoys staying active, working on his yard, playing or watching sports, and exploring the outdoors with his family.
