About Travis Newsom, APRN-CNP

Travis was born and raised in Southeast Idaho and has resided in Pocatello since graduating high school. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Idaho State University, he worked here at Portneuf Medical Center as a registered nurse. Travis first worked in the float pool and then in the Infusion Therapy department on the vascular access team where he placed PICCs and other types of lines. While working as a nurse, he earned his Master of Science in Nursing through the University of Cincinnati and completed his certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Travis enjoys spending time with his wife and two children – boy and girl twins – traveling, mountain biking, and skiing.
