About Jorge De Amorim Filho, MD

Jorge de Amorim Filho, MD is a board certified general and trauma surgeon. He attended the University of Utah where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology (with a minor in chemistry) He completed medical school and residency at the University of Utah.

Dr. Amorim was drawn to general surgery because there is a broad variety to help people and see the near-instant impact on their lives. Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Amorim would help his father, a vascular surgeon, at the hospital and saw early in life that he wanted to grow up to be a surgeon so he could help people improve their lives. Dr. Amorim loves swimming, cycling, competing in Ironman competitions and spending time with his family. Jorge’s wife, Alli is a pediatrician practicing at the Pocatello Children’s Clinic.

Dr. Amorim is a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic, Hernia and Minimally Invasive Surgery and Master Surgeon in Hernia Surgery. These designations are given to surgeons who meet rigorous quality, training and patient safety criteria set by the Surgical Review Corporation
