The 17th Annual Brake for Breakfast was held Wednesday morning at many medical centers in eastern Idaho. Vehicles were lined up along the drive-thru route set up at Portneuf Medical Center to receive their sack breakfasts and breast cancer screening information. The breakfast is held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 2,800 sack breakfasts were donated by Portneuf Medical Center and dozens of volunteers from the hospital, and students from ISU, were there to help give out the free swag. “My mother did pass away with breast cancer so it’s a little near and dear to my heart, but it’s an awesome thing, you get to meet the rest of the people in the community, people are so happy to be getting this and to learn about this, and you have the firefighters out here supporting everything, it’s just an awesome community effort” said Joyce Devaud, Volunteer. Firefighters from Fire Station #1 in Pocatello donate proceeds from T-shirt sales to breast cancer awareness. KPVI – channel 6
