Portneuf Employee Named ISU Health Sciences Preceptor of the Month

The Idaho State University Kasiska Division of Health Sciences (KDHS) recently awarded Dianne Robison, Portneuf Medical Center Laboratory Quality Education and Outreach Coordinator, with the KDHS Preceptor of the Month Award.

Dianne has been with Portneuf Medical Center since 1980. In her history with Portneuf, she has served in several different roles. Currently, she oversees student clinical rotations, directs the laboratory quality program, and is the representative for laboratory outreach.

Portneuf Medical Center is Hosting a Mini Health Fair

Portneuf Medical Center is hosting a Mini Health Fair on Saturday, May 15, 2021 in honor of Women’s Health Month. Advanced scheduling is available for mammograms; lab work is available for both women and men.

Portneuf’s mobile mammography coach is onsite between 8am – 2pm near the main entrance and labs are available from 7am-11am in the outpatient lab just inside the main entrance. Mammograms must be scheduled in advanced by calling 208-239-1500; most labs require 12 hour fasting.

When you experience stress, your body undergoes a hormonal response in the form of releasing cortisol and other stress hormones. This hormonal cascade creates a burst of energy that allows you to fight or flee from an actual or perceived danger.

Portneuf Medical Center is the First in Idaho to Achieve SRC’s Center of Excellence in Hernia

Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) has recently achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery, recognized for providing the highest quality of care and patient safety by Surgical Review Center (SRC) SRC. Portneuf is the first in Idaho to achieve this honor.

Status as an accredited facility means that Portneuf Medical Center has met nationally & internationally recognized standards. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous requirements and inspection process are granted accreditation.

Portneuf Medical Center Administers First COVID-19 Vaccine to Frontline Team Members

Pocatello, ID – Today, Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) began administering COVID-19 vaccinations to front line team members. PMC expects to administer over 450 vaccinations from this first shipment. “This is a historic moment for our organization, for our team members and for the community,” said Jordan Herget, CEO of Portneuf Medical Center.

Portneuf Medical Center Moves COVID Testing to Idaho Central Credit Union

Portneuf Medical Center’s outpatient COVID-19 testing has been moved to Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), 4400 Central Way, Trailer 2 in Chubbuck. The location change is effective starting Monday, November 30, 2020.

Testing at the ICCU location will be available Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Testing is conducted by PMC’s laboratory staff.

Portneuf Medical Center Implements Revised Visitation Policies

In response to the local increase in COVID-19 community spread, hospital admissions and emergency room visits, Portneuf Medical Center is revising its visitation policies. As of today, Friday, October 2, 2020 at 4 p.m., only on-duty staff, physicians and patients seeking care may enter the hospital or our clinics. Recognizing the critical emotional and/or physical support provided in specific circumstances, exceptions to this policy include: • Delivering mothers (one companion/visitor) • Pediatric patients (parents/immediate caregiver)

Kindred to Manage Inpatient Rehabilitation Services at Portneuf Medical Center

Portneuf has engaged Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation Services to manage inpatient rehabilitation services at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Under the agreement, Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation Services will manage and operate Portneuf Medical Center’s 9-bed rehabilitation unit. The rehabilitation unit has a long history of offering exceptional care to patients recovering from serious illness or injury, including stroke and brain injury. This new relationship with Kindred will build on that strong history and foundation.
